Fake UGGs – When is an Ugg not an UGG?

Real Genuine UGG® Australia Boots and “Ugg Boots”

How can you tell fake “Uggs” from Genuine UGG® Australia Boots? Or when is an Ugg not an UGG? To add to the confusion “Ugg” is a word in general use now for a certain style of Australian Sheepskin boot. So merchants selling products as “Ugg Boots” mostly aren’t selling legitimate UGG® Australia Boots (a Deckers Corporation brand). An annoying number of “Ugg” retailers bring out models that look like UGG Australia boots and have similar names.

My feeling is that though it might not be technically illegal, it is certainly very misleading, and if the purpose is to dupe customers into thinking they’re buying the legit and genuine article when they’re not, then it’s totally wrong. Lots of customers have been duped by the offer of bargain “Ugg boots” and lots are really confused by what’s out there.

UPDATE: Be sure to read my footnote regarding websites with UGG in the name – its at the bottom of this post. NO SITE with the term ‘ugg’ in the domain name sells legit UGG® Australia boots apart from uggaustralia.com the official site.

So how do you tell a retailer is selling genuine UGG® Australia Boots? Lets deal with a couple of issues first.

“Australian Ugg Boots” are not UGG® Australia products

Let’s first clear up one thing – the generic Australian makers of “Ugg” Sheepskin boots, often trading with websites ending in .au and registered to Australian Companies. These guys are generally okay and sell, in the main, good quality sheepskin boots – they often describe their boots as “100% Australian made Uggs”, “Australian Ugg Boots” and the more responsible ones specifically dissociate themselves from UGG® Australia and Deckers Outdoor (the brand owner) in the footer or on the About Us page so customers don’t get confused. These guys have been selling these types of sheepskin “Ugg boots” for years and as long as people understand these products are NOT the UGG Australia® brand then its fine in my book.

Sellers of Chinese UGG fakes/copies are not selling UGG® Australia products

This is where UGG buyers can get seriously stung and have been (see all the responses below). There are a HUGE number of websites cropping up on the Google Adwords system (Googles “sponsored” ads) and in the search results offering UGG Boots that are in fact low quality fakes/copies of UGG® Australia boots.

These websites do nothing to dissociate themselves from UGG® Australia and deliberately set out to trick people into thinking they are buying genuine UGG® Australia products when in fact they are cheaply-made, low quality Chinese fakes shipped direct from a counterfeiting factory in China. Don’t fall for the “factory direct Ugg boots” line or “buy Ugg boots direct from the manufacturer” – they are all bywords for FAKE.

Furthermore there are many many cases of customers being overcharged on their credit card, being asked to pay twice, not receiving any product or receiving incorrect colours and sizes. Packages coming from China are often stopped in Customs – some are seized as brand fakes and for others the recipient will need to pay import duty. All a shock if a customer thinks they are buying legit UGG® Australia boots.

As we have seen in the stories below, after sales service is nonexistent and returns, exchanges and refunds are near impossible – often the websites even demand a hefty restocking fee! Plus you have to pay for your own courier service to China. All in all a total nightmare if you’re stuck with these nasty (and often very smelly) copies and a big hole in your bank balance. These chinese websites only aim is to make money quickly – they are run by people who have no interest in serving customers – in most cases they are breaking UK and US law and many are run by criminal gangs.

If you e-mail them and ask if their boots are genuine of course they will say yes and then spend ages and ages e-mailing nice messages, giving money off offers, freebies etc. until you pay (normally by Paypal) and in a good proportion of cases thats the last you’ll ever hear from them. Often the website closes down within a few days and just like that – you’ve been scammed. Be aware that a whole month’s salary in china can be than the cost of one pair of these fake boots! So its a massively luctrative scam for them.

The intention of this article is to warn customers that these websites are out there in google, yahoo, msn and other search engine search results offering fake products and customers should AVOID them. I have a list of these fake UGG websites at the end of this article which I will maintain as we discover new sites. If the website is on the list my strong advice is to AVOID.

So how can I spot a fake UGG website?

Here is my checklist from all we have found out so far:

1) UGG® Australia brand – it might be a really obvious point but it can identify about 80% of fake UGG sites. The simple rule is … if the product is not described as UGG® Australia then it’s not that brand! Do not be tempted by the fancy pictures because they may well be pictures of genuine UGG Australia boots being used – some fake sites have even taken the images directly off UGG® Australia’s main site! The products on these fake sites are made to look like UGG Australia Boots, some are even photographed standing on boxes that appear to have the UGG® Australia logo printed on them and they are not the genuine article at all.

Don’t be fooled by the descriptions either – if you see a product described as “UGG Classic Tall” or “UGG Cardy Boots” it is not the same as the “UGG® Australia Classic Tall” or “UGG® Australia Classic Cardy”.

Lets be clear – a brand is a mark of quality – products that are not of that brand will not be that known quality. This goes for anything you might buy. The brand that most buyers mean when they talk about real/authetic/genuine UGG Boots is UGG® Australia – no other similar sounding name means that brand. The same as you would not expect Kokacola to be genuine Coca-Cola, names like “Australia UGG”, “UGGs Australian”, “100% Australia UGG”, even “Genuine UGG” are often used by the fakers to fool you – they are meant to trick you. Just remember the brand and don’t be tricked!

2) Websites with UGG in the name

In Aug 2009 UGG® Australia issued an explicit conterfeit warning on their official website. To summarise: Any website’s domain name (thats the bit before the .com or .co.uk) that has the three letters ‘ugg’ in it, is not selling UGG® Australia brand. For example the website uggbootsforsale.com is therefore not legit because it has UGG in the domain name.

This nows covers 90% of the sites you might be concerned about however we are not done quite yet some sites are even more shameless and use the legal name UGG® Australia and have a domain name without UGG in it.

3) Do a domain check – So the website does say UGG® Australia or has what appears to be the UGG® Australia logo but I’m still not sure? Next step is to do a simple domain check to find out who registered the domain, in what country and when the domain was registered. Use the website http://www.domaintools.com and type in the domain name into the whois tool. If the registrant is in China (country code CN) or the domain has been created within the last three months then my strong advice is AVOID. These fake sites are often only live for a few weeks so they appear to be very recently created. If the domain is held by a proxy service or c/o a domain regsitrant like networksolutions then my advice is AVOID as this registrant is trying to hide their identity. On a good honest domain regisistry entry you are looking for a persons name or company name, a real local street address with postcode/zip code and local phone number.

4) What are the other identifying features of fake UGG sites?

Only UGG Boots: UGG Australia work only with a select number of online boutiques and high street retailers. All have other designer brands available in their range. If you see only UGG products on the site then that’s a tell tale sign.

Shipment Times: This is a good give-away! Check the shipment times on the FAQs pages. If they cannot offer a quick shipping option like overnight shipping it may indicate the product are being shipped from China.

Support methods: If the website does not offer a local phone number and only offers an input form for support or a simple to set up e-mail account like gmail of yahoo or IM support then AVOID. Legitimate UGG Australia retailers are much more established sites with proper support methods, local contact numbers and local addresses.

Poor English: If some of the text on the FAQs pages and product pages seems a little odd then take that as a warning sign that the creator cannot speak english – a translation programme may have been used to create the text. If it reads a little odd, has odd turn of phrases then that’s a warning.

Cheap Prices: Remember the odd addage – if it sounds too good to be true then it generally is. Put it this way UGG® Australia is a premium brand sold only though major outlets and established websites that you have heard of before. Deckers deliberatly restrict the brand to merchants with a good reputation and the right product mix – getting Authorised status is no cake walk! General rule of thumb for UK buyers – don’t expect pay less than £90 for genuine UGG® Australia adult boots. This is a PREMIUM brand and expect PREMIUM prices – no fire sales, job lots, factory direct deals. Sorry folks but those are the facts.

If you are asking the question “is this website legitimate?” you probably already know the answer!

Are genuine UGG® Australia products now made in China?

Finally a question I’m asked a lot and one that confuses a lot of people especially if they buy UGG boots from a legit high street chain and find a “made in China” label inside. The answer is “YES BUT”. YES UGG® Australia, like Converse, VANs and many other footwear products today, are now made in China BUT under working conditions and quality standards supervised by Deckers. Many branded goods are now assembled in China and many attract brand fakers. Expensive branded goods in short supply will always attract people wanting to make a fast buck with fake product!

There is a BIG difference here between the fakes and real products – Deckers UGG® Australia uses 100% A1 grade Australian Merino wool and each boot is made to the stringent standards that Deckers expects and supervises. This is a common practice with designer goods – they are then shipped to legitimate UGG® Australia retailers worldwide and sold to the public with all the workmanship guarantees and returns options you would expect with a premium brand.

The Chinese rip off sites are an entirely different kettle of fish. They produce inferior UGG® Australia copies which do not use the same quality materials like nylon instead of wool and sheepskin and poor construction methods or standards – which means the products quickly loose shape, rub and fall apart. Occasionaly the boots come in branded boxes and even have a fake version of the care card – but however convincing they might first seem if your package came by courier from China its 100% FAKE product – no exceptions.

Though both are “made in china” they are two totally different products. If nothing else – let’s be clear on two points.

UGG® Australia do not allow their legitimate products to be stocked in China and sold direct to the public.

“UGGs” shipped from China may look legit but they are NOT UGG® Australia products – they are ALL poor quality copies.

If were just about to buy a product and you have googled the website’s name and got to this article then I hope we have saved you from disappointment. If you have fallen for the “UGG boots” scam then read below about a few sucessful people who have managed to get their money back. It is possible but you will have to register a dispute with Paypal and/or contact your bank.

How can I buy genuine UGG® Australia boots at the cheapest price possible?

I’ve done a ton of work on this. If you are looking for the best prices for the genuine thing my UGG® Australia price comparison pages will get you the rock bottom, lowest prices across the full UK range of Genuinue UGG® Australia products. I’ve negociated some special deals with UGG® Australia approved UK retailers so you’ll struggle to find anything cheaper AND genuine. I’d love to tell you I’ve found adult UGG Australia boots for under £90 but I’m afraid they are still pricey – but they are the real thing and I’ve done my best to get you the best deals on each and every product. Here are the links.

If real UGG Boots are too expensive for you then my best advice is to at least have a look at similar looking high quality products from EMU Australia, Just Sheepskin, Rocket Dog and Skechers (the Keepsakes and Cunning range is good). I have UK price comparisons on each of these brands and tons more on the main website. These options are way better than the junk shipping in from China.

Anyway folks – stay safe and Happy UGG® Australia Hunting!

do not buy from any of these websites – you will be ripped off

Many thanks to all those who have helped me indentify these sites. Sadly this is not a definative list and more sites will be created this week to scam people. Just because a site is not on the list it does not mean its genuine – do the checks outlined above if in doubt walk (click) away.

If you have been scammed then let us know by using the reply feature at the bottom of this thread. Sorry the thread is so long now!!

……. UPDATE … AUG 2009……. UPDATE … AUG 2009……. UPDATE … AUG 2009……. UPDATE … AUG 2009……. UPDATE … AUG 2009

UGG Australia are beginning to strike back against the UGG counterfeiters. They have made a specific statement which clarifies the legal terms of use of the ‘UGG’ three letter name. UGG Australia has stated that any site with a website domain name containing the word UGG or one of their model names (like CARDY) does not carry genuine UGG® Australia Boots. Let’s be clear – if you see a website claiming to sell genuine UGG Australia Boots and it has ‘UGG’ in its domain name (the bit before the .com or .co.uk) then it is 100% fake. This covers about 80% of the fake UGG Boots sites we have discovered. To read more about this and the steps UGG Australia are taking by clicking the link below to my latest post on this troubling subject.

Genuine UGG Boots and fake UGG websites/a> – 19th Aug 2009<

……. UPDATE … DEC 2009……. UPDATE … DEC 2009……. UPDATE … DEC 2009……. UPDATE … DEC 2009……. UPDATE … DEC 2009

Many thanks to “Words of Wisdom” for finding this on the BBC website. His advice and comments have been very helpful since this thread was started.

As many of you know I’ve been reporting this problem to all possible agencies like trading standards, BBC watchdog in fact anyone who will listen. I’m please to say the Metropolian Police central e-crime unit have taken action against certain sites using “co.uk” domains to falsely represent themselves.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8392600.stm

“Consumer minister Kevin Brennan said scam websites cost the economy thousands of pounds each year.” — hey Kevin – make that MILLIONS!! (I estimate there’s a million pounds lost just on this one thread)

This is certainly a step in the right direction and very welcome but I must emphasise that this is only a small proportion of what’s out there and the problem is still massive. So please read the above article if you have not already done so.

……. UPDATE … AUG 2010……. UPDATE … AUG 2010……. UPDATE … AUG 2010……. UPDATE … AUG 2010……. UPDATE … AUG 2010

About three weeks ago UGG® Australia announced the new Winter 2010 UGG Boot range and I’ve been watching to see how long it takes for the Chinese sites to start ripping off the new styles. Answer: about 10 days. As we know these copies are going to be poor but even so that’s really frightening if you are a genuine UGG Australia retailer trying to get resonable ranks on Google and make a living.

Anyway I know is very early in the season but I’ve just been trolling the internet (once again) for fake UGG sites and I now have 500 published above. And yes it was super depressing :(

As before – anything with a UGG in the domain name is not authentic UGG® Australia product and most are cheap chinese fakes. Wanna give your credit card details to some unknown counterfeiter bod in China? No I thought not – so please check the uggaustralia.co.uk site for genuine retailers or use my Compare tab (top right) and pick UGG Australia from the brand list via the top navigation of this page. We have all the new styles listed.

So this thread is once again destined to be one of the busiest on our blog and feel free to share your stories below and please facebook/twitter/ link to us to get the message out – oh and click our “Like” button at the top of this post.

If you are asking about websites with the word “UGG” in them we’ll happily post your question but your answer is already written very clearly and several times over in the post above.

Happy Genuine UGG® Australia Hunting

Dr Crocs.

Dr. Crocs. Now that I have read this piece of information you published, makes me concerned for the fact that I wasted my money into a pair of Uggs from retailugg.com in which I thought were “100% authentic” (as stated in website). I have not yet recieved my item neither do I know when will it arrive. I want to know if I can get my money back. If yes, then how? What actions must be taken? If no, then what can I do to make justice for this scam.

I wish i would of checked this website out before I purchased the Item!

Regarding store.uggbuy.com: Another uggbuy.com complaint! I ordered Classic Uggs on December 9 for my daughter for Christmas and experienced the same as many of you… confirmation from paypal immediately that they were paid and then nothing until last week that the boots shipped. The company changed their email address and there were typo’s in the email notification I received so I knew I was in trouble at that point. When I tracked them, they were in China! Amazingly they arrived today but I believe they are “knock offs”. They look and feel real but there is definitely an odd smell to them and they have a hard, unflexible sole. The sizing is “off” on them. I have 2 other pairs (authentic) which I’ve ordered a size down from my normal size but these are too small.

I filed a complaint with paypal but the immediate response was that the seller couldn’t be contacted and paypal claims they only address the shipment of goods- not quality of goods received. I sent off yet another scathing email to uggbuy.com threatening legal action if I don’t get a full refund for the fake boots received. This is the 5th email I have sent with no response, so I don’t expect one.

I will now follow up with my Chase Visa directly to see what options I have. Lesson learned: I will never order anything designer online without researching the company first. Hopefully more people find this site before ordering because, clearly, these sheisters are continuing to scam everyone… what a shame.

you’re welcome, happy holidays to you too. here’s the link to file the complaint, it asks alot of questions, choose internet one on one of the pages, i had to go back a few times to figure out which ones to use, there was one answer for fake, and one for not delivered… i think i’m going to wait another week in case we receive them, then i can claim fake, if not then the not delivered one. i have copies of everything i need, even though they changed they’re site on ruedemode, i have it my bookmarks as tile with Uggs description and the site name, so that’s proof they changed the site. it’s all good. also… i’m a huge fan of CSI, so i’ve learned well from the show… lol here’s the link:

after another 5 days of waiting having been promised my tracking number i finally get a response, After posting an extract from here on my facebook profile, which I have to note is private an can only be view by my “friends” The sellers response was that she is going to seek legal advice for me “purposely denigrating her company with my false allegations”
So I now have a tracking number but she did not tell me which site to check it on! A friend suggested it may be parcelforce, which I have tried but they have no info as yet, It is two weeks since I paid and was promised xmas delivery.

    Regarding uggbootwarehouse.com:

    Hi, Nikki
I saw all the crap on facebook about your “allergations” LOL!
The boots I received from UggBootwarehouse were not delivered by parcelforc e- they came direct from China, all the paperwork was in Chinese neither was there a returns slip. If you have an authorised UGG retailer by you, definitely go in there and see the real deal when you get your boots, see (and smell) the difference…all the packaging and box is smaller, cheap and nasty, there are no card inserts in boots to keep their shape, the lining is really nasty fake fur although thick, the dustboot has the word ‘snowboot’ on it and it too, is cheap and nasty, they are just nasty and whilst you could probably pay £15 for them at some market somewhere and be relatively happy, the prices that are being charged for market tut is just way out of line

    Anyway, Merry Christmas

    Milly

  19. December 25th, 2008 at 01:04 | #19

It’s now Christmas Day in the UK (just). Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all who have read this thread and especially to the many community spirited folks, who have contributed their questions, shared their knowledge and kindly helped others. I’m sorry to hear so many have been affected by these dodgy companies, are still waiting for shipments that may never turn up or have received poor quality Chinese UGG copies. You must be gutted that the well intentioned gift may not be something you want to give.

If that’s you – take heart. Many other intelligent, trusting and well meaning people have been tempted by these websites and stung. WordPress Stats tells me that this one fake UGGs thread has been viewed over 10,000 times. From the keywords people have used to find this thread, I know that many people have read this post just before they were about to buy UGGs that were fake. What we have all written has successfully warned many others about the pitfalls and saved many from making the same mistakes.

By raising disputes where we can, informing those that can and should be taking action, and by generally putting this issue on the radar I hope we have started the fight back against these Chinese rip off merchants. As many have said we all work hard for our money and times are especially tight for many people right now.

Although these websites only started appearing en masse around November my fear is that they are here to say well into the New Year. For my part I’m going to continue talking to the authorised online UGG Australia merchants in the UK so see what we can do jointly to educate the public and also to prevent these crooks using the Google Adwords system to hook people in.

On a side note, I’m sure the Sales will bring some cheaper prices for genuine UGGs and I’ll bring you those deals as I find them. In fact UK web prices started dropping heavily today and I’ve reflected these the http://www.alltheshoes.co.uk website already.

For those of you in the US I have some good news too – I have just acquired alltheshoes.com and will be bringing my Dr Crocs blog, news stories and price comparisons to the US market in the New Year. Hopefully by then these Chinese cheapskates won’t get a look in.

Wishing you and your loved ones health and happiness….

    Dr Crocs

Hi, I looked at the list of fake stores and some that I wanted to buy from aren’t on there. I would REALLY like it if you looked at this sites and let me know if they are fakes, thank you if you find out, if not, then still thank you of informing people so they don’t get scammed.
    This are the sites:

Just to let you know bought a pair of UGG’S from globalugg.com which are really bad fakes from China. Website offers Free UK Delivery and prices in sterling and even gives you a Parcelforce tracking number when you purchase…. Bad news is PAYPAL will not cover you for any transactions outside EBay, so basically Paypal will let these guys rip us off for as long as they so please!! BE WARNED DO NOT USE PAYPAL AND EXPECT TO BE COVERED… YOU ARE NOT!!

I finally received my “uggs” from uggbuy.com I got really nervous also so I purchased a real pair straight from ugg and paid extra shipping to have here before christmas. They “look” real, but when compared to the actual real ones they look a little different. They did not smell like most people say. However I let my girlfriend try on both pairs (without telling her which ones which) and she said the real uggs feel way better and the fake uggs are to tight and small. Now I have two pairs of uggs that I paid a combined value of about $335, and I’m not sure if I should trust uggbuy to return them and actually get my money back?

hello, I ordered from cosieboots.com on December 8th a pair of the new Leopard print Ugg boots. The price was not a discounted price but they showed them as being available. I have been ripped off royal!! The boots arrived on December 24th, but they are not the Leopard print ones. I contacted them immediately, and two days later they responded that the “warehouse man said he sent you the right boots.” I was totallly unaware that this site could have been fraudulent, and there is nowhere on the site that shows these boots coming from China. I really thought I was ordering from Australia. I paid with Paypal, but they are not willing to give me my money back, stating that this purchase was not covered by buyer protection, and that paypal only covers shipment of items, not issues with fraud, fake, quality or wrong item. I am now going through my credit card company that was billed to try and get back my $130.00. I am very mad and intend to also submit information to the Attorney Generals office as Paypal should have some responsibility here as they have let these people register with them as sellers, and we the unsuspecting public have no protection, it seems. Both Paypal and these thieves make money while bilking the innocent. cosieboots.com has another website just started up called musthaveuggs.com. AVOID

I’m so upset I purchased my black cardy’s from retailugg.com clearly I got scammed. I just purchased Friday & filed a report w/ Paypal but after reading it appears they will do nothing. Its a good thing that it came directly out of my bank account. I’m going to be going to my bank first thing in the morning & dispute the charge as fraudulent. I am pretty sure that I will get my money back. They said on their about us page stated they were in California or I would have never purchased from them.
I’m so upset I’m really hoping that I will get my money back! After I find out tomorrow if my bank will refund my money I will try to go to someone legit now!
Anyway just wanted to add that I’m another person to be scammed by retailugg.com

    are these genuine sheepskinugg.com/sheepskin-ugg-classic-short.html ?

  34. December 29th, 2008 at 17:26 | #34

In response to the latest questions along the lines of “are these UGGs genuine?” If they don’t actually claim to be UGG Australia brand then the are clearly not “genuine UGGs”. As a quick summary of the e-mails I have sent in reponse, the following websites do not sell Genuine UGG Australia boots.

    Chinese websites

sheepskinugg.com (domain registered to Xiao Xiao, Fujian, China)
uggsdream.com (domain registered to the now infamous Mr Yuan Chen)
uggshoes-store.com (domain registered to Zhang Zhan, Beijing, China)
cosieboots.com (domain registered to Zhoukai Guo, Fujian, China)
superugg.com (domain registered to Rongchun Huang, Fujian, China)
moreugg.com (domain registered to Rongchun Huang, Fujian, China)
retailugg.com (domain registered to Rongchun Huang, Fujian, China)
uggbuy.com (domain registered to Rongchun Huang, Fujian, China)
kicksugg.com (domain registered to Rongchun Huang, Fujian, China)

    US importers of Chinese UGGs

cityfashionshop.com (domain registered in NY, US – buttons on “UGG Cardy” are not correct – I conclude these are not authentic UGG Australia and are probably sourced from China) Ditto popsneakers.com which is also registered to the same person.

On both these websites (cityfashionshop.com and popsneakers.com) there is a clue in the FAQs about how they probably operate ….

Q: Do you overnight an order? A: Unfortunately we cannot overnight the items because we have a special agreement with our delivery companies.

LOL – what a goofy answer! I’d put money on the fact that this guy does not carry stock and orders direct from China – hence the long shipment times.

    UK importers of Chinese UGGs

uggbootwarehouse.com (domain registered in the UK selling UGG copies probably sourced from China – if you read Milly’s comment above its probable this lady has no stock herself and is simply re-ordering direct from China when she gets an order so the goods come direct!). No lead times are given but given the delivery delays noted above what we know so far is consistent with this modus operandi. Any more info on this one would be appreciated. Oddly the contact us link redirects to iuggs.com a chinese registered site. Smells of someone trying to make a fast buck – I would AVOID this website.

    Honest sellers

getugg.com (this website is acting responsibly in my view and the footer clearly states “We are not selling products under the Deckers Outdoor Corporation and their UGG Australia brand”)

Its very simple to look up the registrant of a domain name using one of the many free “whois” service providers on the web. See my earlier comment (5th December) on this.

Regarding uggbootwarehouse.com: It seems to me that this woman in Doncaster is getting orders for a Chinese setup, it seems like she only comes into contact with the boots if they are returned to her in Cantley (not Bentley as I mistakenly said above) near Doncaster and she then advertises them as available for a cash on collection buy. she advises a 10-14 day delivery time and uses a yahoo email addy as well as her hotmail addy. It is now stating oh the website that the products are delivered direct from the production line. her name is Heather Blackie.

I would like to thank Dr. Crocs. Thanks to this website I did not waste money on a fake pair of uggs. As soon as I found out that Moreugg.com was selling fake boots out of China I opened a dispute with paypal and finally got my order canceled and my full refund. I ordered a new real pair from cozyboots.com, they have the BEST customer service and i can’t wait to get my uggs :) Thanks again!!

I have a pair of black Nightfall Uggs in my shopping cart on boots-ugg.com when it occurred to me to check to see if this is a legit site and whether or not they are authentic. Of course, all seems up and up but thought I would post here and hopfully get a reply before I get duped. I live in the states. They do state they are not affiliated with the Decker brand but the logo is the exact same. How can they do that and not be the real deal? Can anyone tell me where to get a good deal on real Uggs?

Regarding Uggboots365.com – FAKE FAKE FAKE. This site purports to sell “Genuine Australian UGGs” Absolute rubbish

I ordered some for my wife for Xmas. They were dispatched, however they were siezed by customs at East Midlands airport and have since been examined by UGG, along with hundreds more, who confirm that they are fake. I have been issued with HM Revenue & customs correspondence telling me that they have been siezed and will be destroyed. I have verified this with customs and this is the position. Do not touch this company with a bargepole. I hope this saved others some misery and dissappointment

Further to Rhonda’s reply on 22 Dec, do not buy from jeansexpress.co.uk Jeans ordered 5 Dec, account debited, nothing received, no replies. They show the same phone number as RueDeMode. But I couldn’t find any trace of jeansexpress on whitepages.com. DAMN – I wish I’d spotted they had no UK phone number (where I live).

Just wondering if anybody has heard of or bought from sales.uggboots-store.com. Found them on a google search for ‘authorized retailers of authentic UGG Australia Footwear’ based in Venture California. Thank you

    nick,
when you go to whitepages.com, click on the reverse address lookup, type in the address.. not the business name, it will give you the name of the “owner” . she is doing business out of her apt. she also has the last name as the registrant person if you look up the domain “jeansexpress.co.uk”. i’ve already filed my claim as not rcvd. ruedemode and jeansexpress.co.uk are both run by the same people.
you might want to file your complaint, also take as many copies of the websites, emails and proof as you can. i have a book of them.. Rhonda

Hi, i have a fake pair that i bought from ebay, i may need to authenticate their inauthenticity, if that makes sense. Who do i go to to get a headed letter stating that these are not genuine Ugg Australia boots?

    Thanks.

    Rhonda,
Thanks. Once I got the name how you suggested, a little surfing revealed that the A***** family are a right little bunch of “entrepreneurs”. softwareos.net is also Mrs T’s, so I wouldn’t advise anyone to buy from them either. And possibly into real estate. As for my jeans, I’ll complain to WorldPay (knowing they’ll not refund me – the most they’ll do is strike off the company but that’s not very likely). I’ll have to reclaim from Visa. Regards. Nick

Regarding cosieboots.com: Just to update everyone on the cosieboots.com scam. I have been in touch with paypal-they will not refund my money, say that they need x amount of complaints about these people. I told Lisa at Paypal about this blog so she could perhaps see how many people are being robbed and how Paypal is playing a part in that. Paypal does not care at this point, since I seem to be the only one complaining. I was told until Paypal can verify that this seller is either selling fakes, or is practicing questionable practices, Paypal will continue to keep their account active. Wow, great customer service!! from Paypal. I continue to be out money on this deal and am very upset. I currently am dealing with my credit card company.

A miracle has happened – after 3 weeks of non-communication, finally an Email reply from Mr A***** from jeansexpress.co.uk (based in their apt in the US !). Apparently they “didn’t have my size” but they’ll refund my money. Ironically, the E-mail arrived when I was halfway through filing an FBI/NW3C Internet Crime Complaint using Rhonda’s link above. They’ve got until 5 Jan for it to be refunded. Rhonda – thanks for your help. Regards.

My wife purchased the UGG Whitley from fbikey.com. We received the boots after about 3 weeks. They are clearly knock offs after looking closely at the toe on the official UGG website.

Given the language on the website, I’m not sure we have any recourse. For example:

    “Return Policy
1.No refunds. Unless the incorrect items you received!”

“100% Real Authentic Quality And Package” (note they don’t claim the boots are authentic)

    “Manufactured by: Nike”

They appear to be of reasonable quality. I’m considering filing a complaint at the IC3 link above, but am not sure given all of the signs we shouldn’t have missed. At this point, we just want others to be aware.
