Genuine UGG Boots and fake UGG websites
UGG Australia has recently published an explicit counterfeit warning regarding Genuine UGG Boots on the official UGG Australia website. The full details are now on UGG Australia’s website click for the Official UGG Australia guide on Counterfeits and UGG fakes.
The UGG Australia warning contains some helpful clarification which can assist in the identification of fake UGG websites – that is websites claiming or appearing to claim their product is genuine UGG Australia boots when in fact the products are fake Chinese UGGs.
I quote “If you are viewing UGG® Australia product on-line anywhere other than uggaustralia.com and the domain name includes “UGG”, or any variation of this word, or includes one of our style names in the domain address, e.g. “Cardy”, this product is most certainly counterfeit.”
A good proportion of the fake UGG websites we have identified so far on this blog do have the word UGG in the domain name so this clarification from UGG Australia marks them out definitively as fake UGG websites.
With the help of my blog readers I have now identified 500 fake UGG websites. You’ll find the full list on my original fake UGGs post.
The other two pieces of news I have on the subject of Genuine UGG Boots vs fake UGGs came from the London firm of lawyers appointed by Deckers / UGG Australia to enforce their trademarks within Europe. They got in touch with me recently and thanked me for identifying fake UGG sites (credit goes to those who responded to my initial post on the subject).
UGG Australia’s lawyers are now trying to get these fake UGG sites removed from Google search results. If you have noticed the message “In response to a complaint we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 1 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint that caused the removal(s) at ChillingEffects.org.” in the search results – this is a result of complaints made on behalf of UGG Australia. UGG Australia are focusing initially on websites that are using some of the stock images to mis-represent their products i.e. UGG Australia images on fake UGG websites.
The second thing is that Google have now stopped companies using the terms UGG and UGG Australia in the Google adwords (sponsored Ads) system unless they have been pre-approved as genuine UGG Australia stockists/retailers. Speaking to some retailers this has meant a frustrating delay on getting their own legitimate Ads approved. Also looking at the sponsored ads returned for common search phrases like uggs, ugg boots, ugg boots sale and cheap ugg boots shows that the fake site have just adapted their text to circumvent the new Google trademark infringement rules. It seems they can use UGG in the middle of a word so they are using combined terms like ukugg, australianugg, 09ugg etc to tempt people to click their ads.
As I’ve said before this is all depressing stuff and means that this coming winter, like last year, thousands of customers will be ripped off by Chinese fake UGG sites and although some steps have been taken by Google and UGG Australia, it shows just how difficult it is to stop internet fraud when the fraudsters are so determined and well resourced.
The only solution is to educate people that there are tons of fake sites out there and that to avoid being ripped off and they should purchase their Genuine UGG Austalia Boots only through suppliers they know and trust.

I recently purchased a pair of ugg boots,well I thought they were ugg they was advertised on there website as being ugg boots.They had the incorrect price on their website which was around £38 I paid for them via a card think it was via pay pal, they contacted me saying that at the time when I purchased them on there site there was an error with the site and I had been charged the in correct price,which immediately set alarm bells ringing. I asked if they was fake and they say they was fake but better then the genuine uggs. Now I stuck, they want me to pay a further £20 and they will send them to me or i have to wait over a month for my refund, why on earth would I want fake boots. No matter what I say to them they just dont get what Im saying when it suits them. They are in china, its not fair that these companies should be able to advertise as ugg when there fakes
Regarding updatedugg.com: do not buy from this site they sell fakes, which they reckon are much better quality than ugg, Im stuck like I said before now without my money and without any boots not that I want fakes cause I dont
the above site has since changed its name and website settings but its still the same company and now they are saying its Ugg of australia,yet its in china
hi! i just noticed that (after reading your article) facebook is showing adds that go to a fake uggs website: uggbootsuggstopsale.com.au or is this a real site? if so it would be very cheap
Regarding uboots.com.au
Hi,
I purchased 2 pairs of ugg style emu’s recently at ebay.
a pair came from Germany, looked OK, but is very uncomfortable after 2 weeks of wearing.
1 pair came from US, totally fake suede outside, lined with fake wool inside.
Beware of fake EMU’s too at ebay!!
I have a question:
Does anyone here knows if this ugg style bootsseller is reliable?
The only thing I want is real sheepskin, I am not a real UGG fan, but a real sheepskin fan.
Regarding updatedugg.com: this company changes its name all the time I have since been on there website and they have changed there name and there home page.
Re ukuggboots.com: Earlier today I placed an order for a pair of UGGS chestnut classic tall…from UK Ugg Boots shortly after placing the order I came across your website, only wish I had seen your website first!!!
As you recommend I checked the website domain to find out that it is registered to a company in Australia….I believe the domain is due to expire Nov 2009 and has been running since 2008.
Tried to cancel my order within an hour of placing the order – but no response. Guess I am likely to be ripped off. LEASON LEARNED!!
I want to complain about ugg boots that I bought from internet web said uk-ugg-boots.com. I paid 60 pounds for sheepskin boots and I resave fabric boots. I sent several emails to the seller . no response .
Please help me to sorted this situation .
Regarding hotuggstore.com: they sold me fake boots and dont want to give money back what should i do?
Regarding uggsale.cc: i bought two pairs of uggs, both fakes, bad stiching, ugg label not centered in the middle or straight also ad glue on side of boot. really gutted that i have been ripped off. i email them no reply yet. i went on the domaintools site put in there website brings up phone number,email, where they are based. contacted them by email again.
regarding uggoutlet-web.com. hi there, i recently bought a pair of ugg boots from this website. i have compared them with details given on various web sites about fake uggs and if they are not genuine they are a very good replica. they were very cheap and shipped straight from china so i’m guessing from what i’ve read they are fake but extremely good quality fake. could anyone tell me if this website is genuine
Hi all,
I purchased a pair of ‘Black Ugg Cardi’s’ from ecwarmboots. I paid for them on 24th September 2009. They were supposed to come a week later. I emailed the company and promptly(within a minute) received an email stating that they’d spoken to the carrier and they would be here within the week. A week later i emailed them. They supplied me with a tracking number and an address to track my item. The courier i was given was ‘ECM’. This was a Chinese Delivery company. It stated that the package had been sent on 26th September.
Now, given that there is currently a postage strike, i thought that this may have caused my problems. However i researched the site and it is apparently a fake. The web pages (as well as the links that were supplied) are easily forged. I paid £56.40 for the boots. The worst element of this is that i used my bank account. Therefore the company now have my bank details. I will have to change all of them as i am concerned about fraudjulence.
Regarding uggsalea.com / uggsale.cc: I believe this company may have changed its name, i have just purchased a pair of ugg boots from here, have been worried since the moment i bought them because things didn’t make sense and they were removed from google. I ordered them over a week ago and still no show, i have emailed them and they have emailed back…I wish i had read this first…Bastards!!!! I have also been worried about my bank account since but unsure what to do.
Relating to Gemma Stone’s posting, this site (uggoutlet-web.com) sells fake UGGS. I have also purchased from them, they still haven’t shipped to me and am now getting fustrated. They have admitted to me in an email that they aren’t genuine but very good copies. I guess I haven’t received them as I replied to them saying that I thought what they were doing was completely illegal as they were using UGG Australias pictures and trademarks on the website. I will be buying originals in future.
Regarding uggsoflondon.com: hi i have payed for a pair of boots through pp and when i looked at my pp recipt i had payed someone in china and am now worried what will be delivered if anything ? does anyone know if i can retract my pp payment and cancel the order?i ordered them 9 days ago thanks fran……
Regarding uggaustralian-uk.com: Just purchased from this site a few days ago – which is very convincing by the way – and then discovered this site and am now convinced that these are fake. I did the domain check and its in China and although it mentions UGG® Australia on the site the paypal transaction has gone through a chinese person, only e-mail contact no phone number etc etc. Wish i had seen this site first!. Have just opened a dispute with paypal as although i haven’t had the items yet no idea whether they will actually even turn up and i don’t want my money left out there any longer than it needs to be. Barclaycard wonn’t help as the transaction went through paypal. Is there an official ugg site i can mail who will confirm to me the site is fake in case paypal want proof?. arrrghhhhhh!!!!!!!!
Hi Kitten – the official UGG Australia website is http://www.uggaustralia.com they have now published a list of authorised online retailers (and high street) for both the UK and US. As above any website with the letters u g g in the domain is not selling UGG® Australia products.
More information on this subject is on my orginal fake UGG boots post.
regarding uggs-australiauk.com: hi, been looking at the bailey button uggs on here and I am convinced they are genuine and I am about to order 2 pairs, could you give me your advice as to whether they are genuine, thanks, pauline.
@pauline stackpoole
Regarding uggs-australiauk.com: I wouldnt trust them!! I did order a pair then found this site. I tried to cancel (just 1 hr after ordering) and they came back the next day and said “no can do, they’ve been dispatched” along with a lot of garble about how theirs are genuine etc (problem is i didnt even question the authenticity! I just said i’d changed my mind). I then went through the company that took the payment and they have assured me i’ve been refunded. I then got an email from the Uggsaustrailiauk people yesterday saying they’ve noticed i’ve been refunded… and lets just say the email isn’t in english which assured me that i’ve made the right decision to not bother with them.
Dodgy english email… “I just checked your order ,my colleage havn’t know our manager have arranged refund for you ,the bank will return the money to your bank ,but you have to pay the 10% cancelling fee ,since the payment paltform which we use do not accpet part of refund. if they did not have any handle fee taking from this transaction. I am pleased to give you a full refund. for cancelling this order, so you have to pay 10 concelling fee ,hoping you can understand.”
I’ve had a number of emails from then since… all poor english! I’ve also been refunded now (less the cancellation fee).
Its up to you… but i wouldn’t even consider it… too good to be true if you ask me! I have just gone and bought a geniune pair from the uggaustrailia.com site. May cost more, but i’ll be getting the real thing and no dodgy fakes!
Regarding ugg-boots-australiauk.com: I have just ordered 2 pairs of the Cardy Ugg boots from the site pretending to be Uk based selling genuine Uggs for half price as a special sale celebrating their 4 year anniversary! I have just found out the website has only been running for 2 weeks and has already ripped lots of people off! I am really worried as I used my Dads credit card to order them and I dont want them taking any money from it. Has anybody had any problems with them taking more money than agreed?
The confirmation email I got was from a company called Top trade names Ltd but then if you email them it puts you through to another company called billingcustomersupport.com! Can someone please advise me of what to do as they are not responding to my emails and I dont even have a tracking ID or anything
@Shell
I have recenty done the exact same thing as yourself, what did you say to payment company when you wanted to cancel your order?
Any help would be much appreciated,
Thanks
My husband ordered three pairs of boots from newstyleuggboots.com when they came they look very fake and fit terrible. Website says satisfaction guaenteed yet they refuse to give us a refund. “angela sara” told us to try to sell them ourselves! We can not get our money back and are stuck with these very uncomfortable boots.
I have ordered boots through uggs-australiauk.com and await my order. I never had Uggs before and was unaware of the controvacy untill after i had ordered. The tracking system says they have arrived in coventry with customs. Assuming they arrive, i will be able to see how authentic they are. However i fear the worst as they are definately from China and the english on the website id definately dodgy. Fingers crossed my credit card details are safe!
I ordered two pairs of boots yesterday from uggs-australiauk.com. I’m usually quite careful with websites and only became suspicious with this one after I had made the order and the confirmation email was quite badly written. I then looked at this blog and some others which claimed this wasn’t a genuine website (I should have guessed this when I saw the special offer…) and wrote to the email asking for a refund. I received a reply this morning from Cherry stating that they only sell genuine UGG boots and that for a refund I would have to pay an additional 10% to a paypay email address. I’m not going to do this so will wait until they arrive – if they arrive at all. Has anyone actually seen a pair of the UGGs from this site?
To: Nicola Ross, Phil and ST:
Re Uggs-australiauk.com… try contacting billingcustomersupport.com. I just went to them and demanded a refund. You need to look at your orders and set up a ‘ticket’. They warned me that I’d be charged 10% of the fee and I said i dont care, just refund me. In the end I paid £55, and was refunded £48… worth it though because I didnt want fakes (which may not have even arrived).
They took a day to come back to me and i just kept on replying to my ‘ticket’ on the site and demanded the refund. I got the refund after 4 days in the end.
The original site came back with the garble I mentioned above.
Good luck guys
If you buy fake Uggs in good faith the credit card company will refund the full cost – providing you send a covering letter with an independent email or letter verifying that they aren’t real.
It is quite difficult to get a shoe shop to do this but I called Sole – formerly Sole Trader – who do stock genuine Uggs and they were very helpful and provided a letter, saying that they stocked genuine Uggs and the ones that I had were not of the same quality material and finish (they can’t say they are fake).
I am waiting to hear from the credit card company but having spoken to them I am confident I will get a full refund.
Good luck.
Also – I asked about the credit card details bing in the wrong hands and whether I should get a new one and the credit card company were very relaxed about things (apparently it happens all the time) and said that usually the fraudulent company only took 1 payment.
@gemma stone
hi, i have justmade a purchase from this site (uggoutlet-web.com) and received an email from them saying paypal had frozen payment cos i made a complaint i am worried cos i never complained and am worried have been scammed help!!!!
Hi,wendy do you mean uggstore-outlet.com ? bcuz iwas thinking about buying my uggs from that website should i ?
@Shell
Hello,
Im in contact with the customer billing support website which hasnt been helpful, they state that my order has been dispatched. Should I still pursue a refund and refuse delivery on arrival??
Thank you.
@Shell
regarding uggs-australiauk.com: hi. i stupidly ordered from this site today and have tried emailing them to cancel with no reply. how do i go about getting my money back and how long did it take for you to be refunded.
Regarding uggs-australiauk.com:
@Phil and @Bianca
Phil – they tried to tell me the same this. They also warned me about the 10% charge – I just said i didnt care and demanded the refund. Other than that, I’m not sure what else you can do to be honest. If you paid on your credit card, you usually have protection anyway so if all else fails, you could try going through them and advise them whats happened?
@Bianca – contact billingcustomersupport.com and say you’ve changed your mind and want to cancel. Chances are they’ll say you’ll be charged 10%… say you don’t care and you just want a refund. I received my refund confirmation after about 2 days and the money back onto my card after about 4 – 5 days.
Good luck both.
I also bought some uggs from uk-ugg.boots.com and I got RIPPED OFF!!! I emailed them several times to say the boots are fake and I want a refund and the ignored me for several days finally I got a reply in poor English saying they would give me a 25% refund and I could keep the boots I am now sorting it out threought the credit card company as I am not happy with them at all. They need closing down!!argh! xx
@Shell
i am awaiting my cancellation fee from this site too. how long did it take for you to get your money back??
Regarding uggs-australiauk.com:
@Shell
thank you for the info. yes i’ve received the email asking for the 10% cancelling fee so i said just take it as i would rather pay that then receive a fake pair of uggs. i think its disgusting that that site can pass itself off as being uk based and claim all there uggs are genuine. i think they should pay me the ten percent for the cheek.
Regarding ugg-mall.com: I purchased a pair of UGG Bailey Button from this website last week. Advertised as being 60% off i thought i was getting a great deal on genuine UGGS the 27th. . I paid £64.99 for them and an extra £9.99 delivery by Parcel Force. I got worried as the next day i am unable to log onto the site. I emailed them from the email adress they sent to my emai adress and they seemed very helpful saying they did not know why site was down- i would soon be provided with tracking details etc. I was getting very suspicious. All the emails i sent were responded within a 1-3 hours! Amazing. After checking my PAYPAL transaction i saw the payment had gone to another website, based in China- DODGY!
After reading on the internet about sites with UGG in their name being fake i knew i had been done. Saturday however i gets an email with tracking info and today i recieved my UGGS. Are they real? Well to be honest, i dont think because i have since heard the site is dodgy. But i tell you what after looking at my nieces ( which are genuine) they are a brilliant copy if they are. Mine are geuine sheepskin and have all the markings.
I am still not entirely happy the fact that they arnt real but like people say- u pay for what you get. I am lucky i received mine within 6 days (bearing in mind of postal strike and weekend) others havent been so lucky.
Regarding uggbootscheapsale.com: Thought of buying ugg for my daughter from christmas and check e’mail address on my domain and found it out to be in china though it was too good to be true as quoted about 59gbp for Childrens size 2
Just wondering if you have received the uggs yet and if so what they are like?@Kitten
I stupidly purchased from uggsaustralia-uk.com, and within a couple of hours of ordering I found some information pages on fake uggs, i searched the domain of the website and found out it was based in china. I requested a refund within a couple of hours of placing the order, they responded within a day and asked why, to think about it etc. They have agreed to a refund with a 10% cancellation fee which i agreed to as i don’t want cheap fakes or to risk paying custom fees.
My advice to anyone is not to buy Uggs from anywhere except approved Ugg Australia stockists – or you will risk purchasing cheap fakes and generally getting ripped off. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.
Hi,
I ordered a pair of what i believed to be genuine Ugg’s from the website ondonuggstore.com. The website apparently had a sale on and my boots were £69.99. The images used on the website are what looks like the genuine images used by Ugg so stupidly I believed they were real.
After ordering them I had a paypal confirmation and the payment was made to a Sun Cunhao. I was given a tracking number a few days later and on entering it into parcel force website I see they are coming from China. I’m guessing they are fakes but not sure if I should refuse delivery or accept them and try to claim the money back from my credit card company. I notice some of you have stated if you can get a letter from a genuine retailer stating they are not the same as the ones they stock, then a refund is likely.
Has anyone actually had a refund?? Was it difficult to get a letter from a genuine stockist??
I feel really stupid, I searched for several hours trying to find genuine ones.
Yes I bought some UGG boots from – buyuggbootsnow – which are probably not real sheepskin even ! I am pursuing a refund , and their Customer services are in denial of their Fakery ! Pay Pal have not been able to help as my complaint against this website is new – i feel so upset and angry – and of course I would not like an exchange ! I was mad to believe half price – but I thought as a factory direct sale it was possible – Everyone not already stung beware – Sympathy to other’s like me rather too trusting ! Bad Karma to the deceivers !
Regarding londonuggstore.com. I have just received my fake uggs from this website. I thought I was buying the genuine article but like Miss T I got suspicious when I found out my paypal payment was going to someone in China. I have emailed them twice because the delivery was taking a long time and I didn’t have the tracking number. They replied quickly both times and I have received the boots I ordered. I have been on the official ugg australia website and when you enter this website on their counterfeit checker thing it is a known one. I have tried to open a dispute with paypal but they said this type of transaction wasn’t covered under buyer protection – I am also disgusted at them.
Regarding uggs-australiauk.com:
@BIANCA
So glad that you managed to sort the refund (less the 10%… though I was actually charged something like 12 or 13%). Its disgusting I know!! All fake sites should be shut down. They should return 100% but clearly out to get whatever they can… enough people… £7 – 8 a time. Awful people!!!
Advice please.
I also have ordered UGG boots from londonuggstore.com. Didnt have a clue that they have such a fake market. Anyway as said above I went to parcel force and found that its coming from china, so we all know they are going to be fake.
Paid via paypal using a credit card. What are my options?
@ST
hi did u recieve your boots yet what was theylike??? i have ordered some too and now worried they wont get here.
currently emailing uggs-australiauk.com due to them dispatching ugg boots a day after I canceled the order. Goods arrivied today and are clearly fake and infact the wrong size to what I ordered ! Currently fighting for a refund and going around in circles. Hoping for the best !
OMG!!! I have just ordered a pair of UGGS from londonuggstore and have been waiting to receive them all week. So i checked out Paypal and realised that the payment went to a freak called Sun Cunhao. After reading Miss Ct note about the same thing and I soooooo ANGRY!!!
I have literally just checked out the tracking number on Parcel force and they are awaiting to be dispatched from Heathrow airport!!! The were dispatched from CHINA!
Miss CT were urs fake? What are my options about paying on Credit card? Any advice?
If I do get them i wll let u no what they are like. I have certainly learnt my lesson-but UGGS from the shop or the official website!
Regarding uggs-australiauk.com: I bought 3 pairs of boots from this site, 1 pair of cardy boots which are very nice and do not look bad at all..if they are fakes, 1 pair of sundance..which again are ok..and a pair of tall classics which are all coming away..i have emailed about 15 times in a weeks and have got nowhere with this.
saying i need to spesk to sales….so think maybe best to steer clear of !!!
@Sandy
OMG! I have just ordered a pair of UGG from newstyleuggboots and been waiting for them. Grrr.. I didn’t realize there’s a lot of fake uggs out there. I should have just bought it from the real site. Wish I found this site first.
Ordered a pair of bailey button ugg boots from wowuggboots.co.uk. Now don’t know if genuine.Anybody else know??????????
