Genuine UGG Boots and fake UGG websites
UGG Australia has recently published an explicit counterfeit warning regarding Genuine UGG Boots on the official UGG Australia website. The full details are now on UGG Australia’s website click for the Official UGG Australia guide on Counterfeits and UGG fakes.
The UGG Australia warning contains some helpful clarification which can assist in the identification of fake UGG websites – that is websites claiming or appearing to claim their product is genuine UGG Australia boots when in fact the products are fake Chinese UGGs.
I quote “If you are viewing UGG® Australia product on-line anywhere other than uggaustralia.com and the domain name includes “UGG”, or any variation of this word, or includes one of our style names in the domain address, e.g. “Cardy”, this product is most certainly counterfeit.”
A good proportion of the fake UGG websites we have identified so far on this blog do have the word UGG in the domain name so this clarification from UGG Australia marks them out definitively as fake UGG websites.
With the help of my blog readers I have now identified 500 fake UGG websites. You’ll find the full list on my original fake UGGs post.
The other two pieces of news I have on the subject of Genuine UGG Boots vs fake UGGs came from the London firm of lawyers appointed by Deckers / UGG Australia to enforce their trademarks within Europe. They got in touch with me recently and thanked me for identifying fake UGG sites (credit goes to those who responded to my initial post on the subject).
UGG Australia’s lawyers are now trying to get these fake UGG sites removed from Google search results. If you have noticed the message “In response to a complaint we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 1 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint that caused the removal(s) at ChillingEffects.org.” in the search results – this is a result of complaints made on behalf of UGG Australia. UGG Australia are focusing initially on websites that are using some of the stock images to mis-represent their products i.e. UGG Australia images on fake UGG websites.
The second thing is that Google have now stopped companies using the terms UGG and UGG Australia in the Google adwords (sponsored Ads) system unless they have been pre-approved as genuine UGG Australia stockists/retailers. Speaking to some retailers this has meant a frustrating delay on getting their own legitimate Ads approved. Also looking at the sponsored ads returned for common search phrases like uggs, ugg boots, ugg boots sale and cheap ugg boots shows that the fake site have just adapted their text to circumvent the new Google trademark infringement rules. It seems they can use UGG in the middle of a word so they are using combined terms like ukugg, australianugg, 09ugg etc to tempt people to click their ads.
As I’ve said before this is all depressing stuff and means that this coming winter, like last year, thousands of customers will be ripped off by Chinese fake UGG sites and although some steps have been taken by Google and UGG Australia, it shows just how difficult it is to stop internet fraud when the fraudsters are so determined and well resourced.
The only solution is to educate people that there are tons of fake sites out there and that to avoid being ripped off and they should purchase their Genuine UGG Austalia Boots only through suppliers they know and trust.
If you want to read more on this subject then please check out my fake UGG boots post.

UGH…

@lisa
Lisa,
Any luck with this? I too ordered 2 pairs of Uggs from the 66Ugg.com site on 12/12/09. They were paid through a combination of PayPal and personal Credit Card immediately. I have yet to receive any confirmation or tracking info, and they have not returned any of the 4 emails I’ve sent to all 3 email addresses they have listed. And, surprise, surprise, their 24 hour customer service phone line just rings and rings until it goes into a busy signal.
Since you ordered well before me, I’m just wondering if there’s any chance you ever received your order?
Thanks!
are the uggs on uggway.com real?
I placed an order using website ukuggstore.net
and got fake UGG boots from china (shanghi)
It looks awful and easilly realize it is fake. I paid 56 pound by using paypal.
I sent an email and got reply saying the boots are perfect. I really want refunds for this rabbish boots. Is there anything I can do?
‘ukuggstore88@gmail.com’
This is a address for this fake company. I do hope no one buy from this company.
@UggBuyer
did you receive your uggs?
I got my uggs from Oneugg.com today and i ordered then on the 13-12-09 nd got them on the 29-12-09. They took a long time to come but the uggs look real enough, but im not an ugg expert so i wouldnt know for sure but they are really soft inside and ugg Australia packaging.
I buy a boots from uggway.com, and they are fake, the value is max 15$ it’s very cheap and its impossible to join the company to be refund.@danielle
Hi, does anyone know if uggbootsaustraliauk.com sell the real deal uggs or are they fake – at £61.60 (apparently 69% off) they seem a bit too good to be true – i would really appreciate peoples thoughts!!!!
Regarding sheepskin-uggboots.net: I recently put in an order for a pair of uggs from this website before I read all the comments. I had a closer look at the website and think it may be selling fake uggs too. I cxxx my card before payment was taken so count myself lucky, will pay Full price for them in a shop from now on! At least you know your getting the real deal.
Thank you all for making me more aware.
@UggBuyer
Did you receive your uggs yet? I 2 ordered them.
@UggBuyer
I received boots from oneugg.com as well. The stitching was loose on one but otherwise they were in good condition. The problem is I can’t seem to exchange for a different size. My E-mails have been ignored so I finally got my credit card company involved. I feel I have been ripped off and can only hope to get my money back from Mastercard.
Regarding uggautraliabootsforsale.com: I have been saving for ever to get a pair of Ugg boots. I thought that I found a ligament web site that sells them. I went ahead a purchased them. I even emailed customer service and asked a question and they mailed me back. After feeling safe about the site I went ahead and purchased them. The next day I went back on to the web site to find that the web site no longer exists. I don’t know what to do or what my next step should be. I used a gift card not sure if I will be able to get a refund. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please Please help me I am devastated about this.
Sincerely,
Depressed in Ohio
Hi Janet,
Have you received your boots yet? It seems that I may be in the same boat as yourself. If you could e-mail me back at ‘amynboggs@yahoo.com’ I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks, Amy
My mum ordered me some uggs from this site and I must admit I did look at the site myself and wasn’t really suspicious. They have downloaded official ugg pictures of the products. I received the boots yesterday and they are the worst fakes I have ever seen! Synthetic fur lined, ill fitting, stinking of glue and terribly finished stitching! How do they even imagine someone would think they were real?
australiauggboot.net – avoid this site like the plague!!! She paid on paypal so don’t know if she’ll get the money back through them.
I would rather not even receive the boots than receive such horrendous fakes. I have real sheepskin boots so I definitely know the difference.
These people are scumbags. Chinese packaging and addresses, no phone number or contact details on website but claiming all the time to be australian.
@sam , u can put a dispute in at the resolutions centre and make a claim to get your money back if thas any help.
If u paid by paypal

@fraises
Have your mother rec’d her uggs from oneugg? i 2 ordered on 12/27/2009.
@maryh
I just ordered from there as well not realizing until it was too late that I had been scammed. I did speak to someone via email and they were very nice. I have a tracking number and have been tracking them. They have been cleared by Canadian customs. I am wondering if they are worth it. I now know for the next time. If it sounds to good then something is right. Let me know about your boots from oneugg.com.
Thanks
Hi All, Been looking at all relevant data and websites as people round our way (stansted + north essex) ie my girlfriend and associates, keep buying cheap (ie fake) uggs and dont know the real score and are convincing themselves they arent getting ripped off, while im wondering why (the uggs – that is !) they lose shape/arent that waterproof etc
I found what I thought to be a good site which is not on the 442 named in the above list of shame so checked it out – uggbootshares.com………ANOTHER RIPOFF COMPANY registered in china etc etc so dont waste your money there and please add to the list !!!
All the best.
This is really helpful… shame i saw this website after i purchased from a fake site.
Everything on the site, even the logo was the same!!! it was only after they sent a confirmation email i began to think something was wrong it had a chinese name a obvioulsy fake email and the english was terrible. I started to look more in depth found this site and it confirmed my worst fears.
I paid via pay pal. Since i have cancelled my solo card, called my bank…and once the moneys out i can start to try and get it back. Im lucky in someways as i only lost 70 GBP, im lucky i didnt loose more.
My advise dont even try to order from the web, unless you have no shops near. Im going to milton keynes after the snow clears and hopefully will purchase a real pair. Man i feel so stupid and of course angrry. Hope they catch all the scums.
I am seriously worried about the order that I placed with this company. The order was placed on Dec. 22, 2009 and no boots have arrived. The funds were handled through PayPal and have been deducted from my account.
Numerous email have been ignored and no response has been received.
I am preparing to file a formal complaint with PayPal and attempt to get the funds back.
I am furious that these sites exist and take advantage of numerous individuals who place their trust in them and then have to wait forever to receive the merchandise.
Does anyone have any advice or has anyone else experienced difficulty with OneUgg?
@maz
I am glad to see this. I ordered mine on Dec. 22 and have been truly concerned.
I ordered a pair of UGG boots from this site on 26th December and received the order today. I am absolutely delighted with the quality of the product.
@Bee Happy
I kept gettin the same e-mails saying dont worry, i ordered one pair from uk-ugg-boots.com three weeks ago and noting has turned up yet! also they took double the price out, do u know if u can the money back?
@Laurie
Laurie,
I contacted Mastercard and have been waiting to hear back from them. Oneugg.com has never responded to my E-mails since Christmas day for an exchange. I think Mastercard is going to go after them and reimburse me but I will probably never get a size smaller boot. If I can recover my money I will be thrilled! Good luck to you!!!
@Schatzismom
I filed a complaint with PayPal as well but they offered no help. If you put your purchase on a credit card I suggest you contact them, like I did. Mine is going after them – maybe yours will, too. Good Luck!!!
Regarding australiauggboot.net:
Avoid this company- complete rogues!!!
I notice a couple of other people have been stung, please add comments here Paypal claim they will do something about it if they get more complaints than mine?!!
Hi Sandie, Probably too late, but hope not. australianuggboots.com.au are fakes – expensive at that! I was taking care not to end up with fakes & was so sure they were genuine that I even paid the equivalent of £250 by debit card, so I am not covered for a refund. As soon as the boots arrived, 3 weeks late and having paid a lot extra for express delivery, I knew they were fake – not the registered Uggs made by Deckers. The sole was really hard and slippery & the quality not that of my real Uggs. However, after a lot of investigation, writing to the consumer associations and trading standards in Melbourne, it seems that these Australian companies are being protected by the authorities as the Australians believe that the term “Uggs” has been stolen from them by the American Decker Corp and Australians see Australian-made Uggs as being the genuine article – and they claim that registered trademark Uggs are the fakes!!!! What a scam, – and supported by the Aussie legal system it seems! 2 months later, I still have the boots, unworn, as they arrived and the only offer I have had from the company to my requests for a refund is that I return them at my cost and order a pair with a hiking sole and pay again for re-delivery – but I don’t want ANY of their boots – they’re not what I thought I was ordering and the company is deceitfully exploiting the meaning of the word “genuine” with the help of the Australian authorities.
@sandie
@Hateuggskankss!! did you every get your boots from ugg555.com ? i have ordered them from there and now am really worrried :S! xx
I am sad to report to you that I have filed a complaint and opened an investigation of OneUgg.com a few minutes ago.
I ordered boots on December 22, 2009 and no boots have arrived.
I have made numerous attempts to contact them and there has been no response. They are in China and I have been watching the comments on this site and people appear to have received their boots from this company but it has taken a very long time.
I have been very patient but on the 22 it will be 30 days.
Just wished to let everyone know that I do not feel that this company is legit.
Next step, have bank/credit go after them. Thanks for this advice.
LATEST FROM ONEUGG.COM, THEY JUST SEND AN EMAIL STATING THAT THE ORDER HAD BEEN CANCELLED. IT WAS NOT CANCELLED BY ME AND THE FUNDS HAVE STILL BEEN TAKEN FROM MY ACCOUNT. SO . . . IF THE ORDER HAS BEEN CANCELLED WHERE ARE THE FUNDS?
I AM GOING AFTER THEM BIG TIME.
Ive just ordered from snowbootsale.com. I’ve had confirmation email and tracking number but something just doesn’t seem right. It says goods insured and no tax, full refunds and defects etc but their based in china and there was a lot of broken english, and the confirmation email was sent from a personal hotmail address. I thought they were really cheap but as it was january I thought it was just sales. I’m really worried now after reading all this. I paid by credit card so I’m hoping I can get a refund if it all goes wrong.
Are uggbootshare a GENUINE SITE or Not – so far the research says not please can anyone confirm this !!
Cheers,
A
regarding uggsbootsstore.com: Good morning. I am checking to see whether I have been HAD!!! I ordered them on the 2nd Jnuary and have still not received them. I have checked with ParcelforceWorldwide, who tell me there is a package in China. It will then be delivered to the USA(Via customs.)
Today I managed to call this number 0203 318 0833 and eventually got through to ‘customer services’ – Very dodgy!!! The person informed me that my package would be with me next week, it was being dispatched from a Warehouse in China, then onto US customs, then to British customs and on to me. The person who I spoke to would not give me the address of their ‘customer service office’ in London – I told them that I would find out another way and check to see if this was a ‘bogus’ site. He got very sheepish and promised me that he would deal with things personally. I told him that I was going to chase things up and take things further!!! He hung up
AAARRRGGGHHHH-Please help.
Kenny
Regarding UggStore.com.au: Received a pair of Ugg Boots today from the above store paid £192 + £71.03 import tax and guess what they are fake. Don’t use this webiste my son bought me these for Xmas and we were so convinced they were the genuine thing he paid by debit card. No chance of getting money back I have sent them an email requesting my money back and I have been told they will accept them back but it will cost me about £40 to send them back and they will charge me 15% restocking charge what a cheek. DONT USE THIS SITE.
@Schatzismom
My credit card company is going after Oneugg.com as well. I’ve never been able to exchange my boots for a smaller size because they will not respond to my E-mails. I’ve been told to save all of my correspondence with them, which I have. Hey, I figure if I can get my money back then I won’t care if I have a fake pair of boots – at least they will be free!!!
