Genuine UGG Boots and fake UGG websites

UGG Australia has recently published an explicit counterfeit warning regarding Genuine UGG Boots on the official UGG Australia website. The full details are now on UGG Australia’s website click for the Official UGG Australia guide on Counterfeits and UGG fakes.

The UGG Australia warning contains some helpful clarification which can assist in the identification of fake UGG websites – that is websites claiming or appearing to claim their product is genuine UGG Australia boots when in fact the products are fake Chinese UGGs.

I quote “If you are viewing UGG® Australia product on-line anywhere other than uggaustralia.com and the domain name includes “UGG”, or any variation of this word, or includes one of our style names in the domain address, e.g. “Cardy”, this product is most certainly counterfeit.”

A good proportion of the fake UGG websites we have identified so far on this blog do have the word UGG in the domain name so this clarification from UGG Australia marks them out definitively as fake UGG websites.

With the help of my blog readers I have now identified 500 fake UGG websites. You’ll find the full list on my original fake UGGs post.

The other two pieces of news I have on the subject of Genuine UGG Boots vs fake UGGs came from the London firm of lawyers appointed by Deckers / UGG Australia to enforce their trademarks within Europe. They got in touch with me recently and thanked me for identifying fake UGG sites (credit goes to those who responded to my initial post on the subject).

UGG Australia’s lawyers are now trying to get these fake UGG sites removed from Google search results. If you have noticed the message “In response to a complaint we received under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, we have removed 1 result(s) from this page. If you wish, you may read the DMCA complaint that caused the removal(s) at ChillingEffects.org.” in the search results – this is a result of complaints made on behalf of UGG Australia. UGG Australia are focusing initially on websites that are using some of the stock images to mis-represent their products i.e. UGG Australia images on fake UGG websites.

The second thing is that Google have now stopped companies using the terms UGG and UGG Australia in the Google adwords (sponsored Ads) system unless they have been pre-approved as genuine UGG Australia stockists/retailers. Speaking to some retailers this has meant a frustrating delay on getting their own legitimate Ads approved. Also looking at the sponsored ads returned for common search phrases like uggs, ugg boots, ugg boots sale and cheap ugg boots shows that the fake site have just adapted their text to circumvent the new Google trademark infringement rules. It seems they can use UGG in the middle of a word so they are using combined terms like ukugg, australianugg, 09ugg etc to tempt people to click their ads.

As I’ve said before this is all depressing stuff and means that this coming winter, like last year, thousands of customers will be ripped off by Chinese fake UGG sites and although some steps have been taken by Google and UGG Australia, it shows just how difficult it is to stop internet fraud when the fraudsters are so determined and well resourced.

The only solution is to educate people that there are tons of fake sites out there and that to avoid being ripped off and they should purchase their Genuine UGG Austalia Boots only through suppliers they know and trust.

If you want to read more on this subject then please check out my fake UGG boots post.

Regarding uggsale.com.au: Hi, I am after buying some uggs for myself and my daughter. I have scoured the internet and came up with this site. I have checked whether it is in the fake ugg list of sites and so far have not seen it. I have looked at the site thoroughly and its seems to me these uggs are genuine. But as they say, it is good to double check. So if anyone has anytime to just read my message I would appreciate it and give me some advice. Thanks x

re: uk-ugg-boots.com – I wish I’d done my research before buying some ugg boots on line. I bought some uggs about 2 wks ago from above site. They arrived today and are definitely fake. I’m not sure if I will get my money back though as I’m not clear what my rights are? I paid via credit card, and have filed a complaint with the credit card company who are going to send me a dispute form. I’ve also emailed the company to ask for a refund, but I’m not expecting them to reply. I’m really annoyed with myself for thinking I could get these boots as cheap as this. I have other pairs of Uggs which I bought from Cloggs, who are a genuine Ugg stockist. I feel really stupid and angry!!!! Can anyone advise if I’ll be reimbursed by the credit card company. Thanks.

I too bought boots from them and have tried hard to get my money back. To be fair they have replied back every day, email used ‘order@uk-ugg-boots.com’ and have eventually offer me 30% discount or 80% if I send them back. Sending them back would give me nothing as I would never hear from them again. I paid by Visa Debit and am now trying to get my money back using visa debit chargeback through my bank they said I had some chance at getting my money back. How do we report this company anyone know?

I also think I have been sent fake Uggs!! I have ordered uggs before and they were fine, ordered from UGGWAY.com 2 pairs of the same model in different colours, problem is I have 2 pairs in black and chestnut supposed to be the same size but one is obviously smaller. The Chestnut pair is supposed to have the lighter sheepskin lining, but this is obviously fake as the lining in my boots are the same colour and looks nylon, I have been in touch with them by emial and have had replies but don’t seem to be getting anywhere, has anyone else delt with this company? Would like to hear from anyone who knows what rights we have, any chance of getting money back?

Do not order UGGS from mallonfire.com. They are fake!!!! I have a genuine pair I bought from a department store. I ordered a pair for my daughter from this website. They are not real UGGS. Please do not waste your money. They are made and shipped from a company in China. I sent an email asking for my money back. They have not responded. I am so mad that I wasted $100.00 on crap!!!!!

Hi I ordered from uk-ugg-boots.com and have to admit I was really worried after reading all these emails of complaints. I received my Ugg boots today if they aren’t genuine they are a very good copy well made and mine are really comfy. The only complaint I have is that they have quite a strong smell to them probably some sort of fire retardant spray which I can live with!

IF YOU PAID BY PAYPAL FOR FAKE UGGS PLEASE READ! I won my paypal dispute for order of fake ugg boots. First of all, open a dispute asap for “items ordered but not received” if you suspect they are fakes. Also open a dispute with your credit card company. Try to contact the seller and request your order be cancelled. If you are lucky enough to actually contact the seller they will still probably not cancell the order. But, you can report you attempted to contact them. Next, and VERY IMPORTANT, if you receive the boots REFUSE the package (and keep the tracking number) and tell the USPS to scan and return them to sender. Let paypal know your order did come but you refused the package and had it returned to the seller. Watch the tracking and as soon as it shows they were refused and returned and have left your post office, contact paypal again. They will check the tracking and see that you do not have the order and will immediately close your case and issue credit to your credit card company. Do not take a chance that your boots are authentic. You can only dispute SNAD if you ordered through ebay. If you open the boots and try to change your dispute to the SNAD they will close your case immediately and say there is nothing else they can do. You can however try the SNAD if you ordered from ebay. Good luck! I too am an experienced online shopper but fell victim to this scam.

Hi. Go ahead and fill out the dispute form and send with it as much documentation as you have. I would also check with your credit card company and ask if you should change your card number. You don’t want this fake dealer to have that info. They will advise you what you should do.

Ref my last postings my boots from uk.uggoutlet.com came today 12 days after ordering, the tracking system worked, the boots are fake but I have received the correct, size, colour and style and have to say they are comfortable, but they have got a bit of a smell!! I too can live with this, I’ve learnt a lesson the hard way but sounds like I had a better deal than most, good luck everybody, be careful!!

HELLO, WELL I HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE BOUGHT FAKES ONLINE IF THEY PAID BY CREDIT CARD. I ORDERED 3 PAIRS FROM OFFERDISCOUNTUGGS. ALL 3 WERE FAKES BUT THEY ALL COULD PASS, NO ONE WOULD BE ABLE TO TELL THEY WERE. I ORDERED 2 PAIRS SZ 7, AND 1 PAIR SZ 8. THEY SENT ME ALL 7′S. I CONTACTED MY CREDIT CARD CO. I TURNED IN ALL MY PAPER WORK, INVOICE, PICS OF THE BOX WITH WRONG SIZE , INSIDE OF BOOT TAG WRONG SIZE, AND MY EMAILS TRYING TO RETURN WRONG SIZE WITH NO RESPONSE. TODAY MY CREDIT CARD WAS ISSUED A CREDIT, AND I STILL HAVE THE BOOTS, SO IF YOU PAID BY CREDIT CARD THERE IS HOPE.

I too ordered two pair of “Uggs” from Cozy2boots.com and received them from Shanghi, China in less than a week. I never knew there was a knock off market and was looking for the best deal online. These Uggs, one pair tall classic in choclate don’t even have any leather or sheepskin, they are 100% synthetic and very cheap looking.

I have a real pair and have been compairing them and they are totaly different. I have been in touch with the credit card company and I have to get a letter from a company stating that they are fake and also get proof of posting and return the boots, then they may issue a refund.

Regarding mallonfire.com: I myself became victim of buying fake uggs, at first i could not find the web site, i did keep the info in my e-mail in box, i did write to the e-mail address, and did get a reply, the next day. they want the model # of the fakes, which are ultra short 5225, however they smell like laquer and glue, as i told them, also inside the boot the tag says ultra tall, the fur is not as nice as my cheap emu, boots from 5 years ago, also they are offering me a refund, however how can i be sure if a refund is eminent??? please , these people need to be prosecuted, goodluck with that!

I typed in uggs australia into google search and somehow got directed to uggol.com stupid mistake by me i am sure, anyway before buying i checked all the signs to show if boots are fake or not i.e Label has made in china on it, sole has an r next to ugg in a circlle also checked packaging and label on back of uggs. Before xmas i ordered for my daughter the bailey button uggs from this site. When they arrived i went with them to bank a shop that sells uggs and checked them thoroughly i was so pleased they were exactly the same. Two weeks ago i thought i would order my self a pair from the same webisite as i thought they were real uggs. However my classic shorts have just arrived and i am sure they are fake they stink. I typed ugg australia back into google to complain only to find a different webite the real one. Both websites look very similar i.e front page is same, same colour same writing font I am now so confused! On the real website it now give you a list of counterfit sites and yes uggol.com is one of them. I have emailed them to say i am not happy and i want my money back they said the boots are real but for the inconvienience they will give me back $6 dollars dont no why. Please someone help me what should i do.

Hi Kay, yes I have just received the dispute form and am printing off and scanning all paperwork at the moment. Did you get yours from uk-uggsoutlet.com? I am getting replies from them when I said they were fakes and they have offered me a full refund am just awaiting an adress from them. Don’t know what to do as they say it will cost me $40 to send them back (dont know how much that is sterling) and I dont think I will get the refund, so I dont know if I will get anywhere with visa because they have offered me a full refund, I just dont trust them to send it and wonder shall I just keep the boots as they are not bad quality at all and very comfortable!!

Before finding this site, I ordered a pair of Tall Classic in light gray in size 7 from uggbuy.net. for $103 USD. I did get a tracking number immediately with shipping via Express Mail International. My order number was 160, what does that tell you? After reading tons of comments on this site, while waiting for them to arrive, I checked the domain name, and sure enough xu jian in China, who owns about 704 other domains. I was very naive with no idea there were so many fake Uggs out there, and worried that I’d never get them or they would be wrong size, etc. I ordered on 1/22, using PayPal (I tried to use a regular Visa but it seemed to want PayPal), and received them 2/01. They look perfect, with authentic Uggs sole, tags and card and box. The size sticker on the box says ‘Made in China’, but I understand that’s where Uggs are put together? now. The stitching is perfect and suede is very nice. However, in checking very closely on the fur inside, I think the fur is fake, attached to a very, very fine mesh backing to the suede outer. My normal size is an 8 so I ordered down to 7, as recommended everywhere. They do not fit as snug as they should, and I suspect it is because of the fake lining, which is kind of a silky fur (perhaps not as thick as 2 faced sheepskin – though it looks lovely). There was no disgusting smell present. They ARE roughly 3/4″ shorter in height than my 20 year old pair of genuine Ugg Tall Classic, which I still wear. I’m planning to give these gray ones to my daughter for her birthday as I think they’ll fit her better and I can’t deal with the hassle of returning, paying big bucks to get them back to China and possibility of no refund.
I’m very grateful for this website, I learned a lot! I’ve been checking it frequently and believe a couple days ago I saw uggbuy.net posted as a seller of fakes.

Regarding UggsOfLondon.com: Beware. Ordered a pair at beginning of dec 2009. No sign of them in Jan 2010. Then got a letter from a firm of solicitors in London to say the boots were counterfeit and had been seized by customs in Heathrow. I had to sign them over or face prosecution. So i am 80 pounds out of pocket, the telephone lines are unavailable, the live link is always dead, they answered some e mails in very bad English and said they were going to contact the shipping agent, they must have known the goods had been impounded by then. Does anyone know how I can proceed and get my money back I cannot afford to lose this money and have no boots. Help

I have ordered 3 pairs of ‘UGG’ boots from uggsale.cc (Info@AgogoMart.com), not aware that it was a fake website as it looked very authentic!! When the boots arrived they were packed all together in cheap plastic bags in one cheap taped-up cardboard box!!! They smell like plastic and the fluff of the lining came off with touch!! they are not even the style that I have ordered!! I have paid by CreditCard, is there any one who can tell me how to have these fake ones certified as ‘fake’ because my credit card company will only refund me if I can provide them with such paperwork. Help, I have lost a lot of money!!!!
