KangaROOS

In 1979 as Bill Rodgers smashed the Boston City marathon record and the jogging craze was sweeping the US and the rest of the world something happened. Robert Gamm, inventor and jogging enthusiast, had an idea. Desirous of somewhere to stow his jangling locker keys and loose change while he went about his daily 10 kilometre exercise jog, he had a eureka moment - a flash of inspiration - a solution to his jogging frustration. Necessity being the mother of invention KangaROOS, the athletic shoe with inbuilt pouch pocket was thus born. KangaROOS - the original shoes with the zippered pockets strode boldly onto the world stage. KangaROOS range from ankle strap basketball boots to running shoes with blind eyelets and to disc soles for springy turns.
