The story of SCARPA begins with the English Lord Rupert Iveagh landowner in Asolo, NE Italy. Fascinated by the skills of locals processing leather and hides he set up the SCARPA shoe company in 1938. He recruited the best local shoemakers to create a trademark with serious ambitions on the international level. S.C.A.R.P.A. (Italian for Assoc. Shoe Manufacturing Co. of Asolo) really took off in the 1940's when local Luigi Parisotto's family came to work at S.C.A.R.P.A. SCARPA'S tradition is their envied range of comfortable footwear for outdoor enthusiasts, from shore to summit, using sophisticated synthetics and quality leathers in a delicate alchemy of quality, distinguished in terms of reliability, technicality, fit, durability and suitability.
