The creation of the Dr Martens Church boot is an interesting and stylish process. Firstly the ankle height upper uses a traditional biscuit-backed leather, with some shades matching exactly to the original archive samples. Contrasting stitching decorates the sides of the upper in a mix of soft curves and angled lines and the signature Airwair woven tag stands proud at the heel. There's a classic 5 eye lace up closure with the addition of the original styled flatter cotton laces.

The shape of the Dr Martens Church monkey boot is shallower than other modern boots but still uses the Dr Martens Goodyear welt method to durably attach the sole to the upper, using a mix of heat-sealing as well as the distinctive yellow z-welt stitching.
